About Us
The Survivor Society is a U.S based, Black and Survivor-led incubator. Our mission is to interrupt the culture of silence, inconvenience, enablement, and discomfort that detracts from progressive and radical organizations' ability to adopt ending sexual violence as a core political tenet, with survivor justice embodied as a cultural practice.
Our Work
Formed in 2021, we are an intentional experiment focused on strengthening the ties between the Survivor Justice and Gender Justice movement with the Reproductive Justice , Labor, Student, Anti-war, Abolitionist, Climate , and Racial Justice movements. Our focus is on 1 connecting individuals and organizations who care about ending sexual violence, regardless of their sectoral focus, to each other, and 2 resourcing up organizations and individuals who are grappling with how to weave survivor justice into their day to day movement work.
“Rape bears a direct relationship to all of the existing power structures in a given society.This relationship is not a simple, mechanical one, but rather involves complex structures reflecting the interconnectedness of the race, gender, and class oppression that characterize the society.If we do not comprehend the nature of sexual violence as it is mediated by racial, class, and governmental violence and power, we cannot hope to develop strategies that will allow us eventually to purge our society of oppressive misogynist violence. ”

Survivor & Reproductive Justice Workers United For Liberation Community Calls’
Restarting in the Fall of 2024, the community calls are a place for workers within the Survivor and Reproductive Justice fields who yearn to see our movements take a more radical stance on issues from Palestine to Militarism. Together, we meet to build connections, learn and deliberate the shifting political terrain, and devise strategies and tools to move our organizations more left.
